The late Collin Ooko was born on 20th January 1984. He was baptised on 14th April 1984 at Our Lady of Visitation Catholic Church, Makadara, Nairobi. Collin passed away on 26th December 2026 in Nairobi. His untimely departure has left deep sorrow in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Affectionately known as Collo to his peers, Collin was the son of the late Paul Onyango Oloo, the late Josephine Anyango (Nyadongo), and the late Mary Margaret Ondus.
He was a beloved brother to the late Charles Ochieng, the late Joyce Akinyi, George Olwenya, Nicholas Omondi, the late Jacob Nyambala, Irene Oloo, the late Oluoch, the late Oduor, Jennifer Atieno, and Aloice Otieno.
He was also a cherished cousin, uncle, and brother-in-law to many.
Our brother was a natural peacemaker, always willing to step in where help was needed. His kindness and selflessness defined him. Though his life was cut short, the impact he made will live on. His passing has left a great void, taking away a future full of promise, dreams, and purpose.
Collin was warmth personified—hospitable, gentle, and deeply caring. A gifted artisan, he worked with his hands to fix, build, and create, always putting love into everything he did.
His smile could light up a room, and he listened with genuine attention and compassion. He was approachable, friendly, and truly amiable.
The last-born of nine, Collin grew up orphaned yet was embraced by many. He radiated love, drew people to himself, and left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was loved because he loved others freely.
Collin was Catholic by faith. He was baptised and received Holy Communion. His humility and compassion reflected his love for God and for humanity.
As Scripture reminds us:
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”
— Matthew 5:9
Let us cherish Collin’s legacy of kindness and allow his memory to ignite love, peace, and compassion in us all.
Collin leaves behind six children, who were the pride and joy of his life.
Rest in Peace, dear Collin.
